Average position — Google

Lower is better — the axis is inverted.

Google only: Bing's daily series has no position, and positions from two engines cannot be averaged into one.

Search channels

Impressions per week by channel, both engines together; weeks run Friday–Thursday because that is how Bing reports them. Organic is ordinary human search — the only bar that means reach. Brand is demand you already earned. Domain is the bare address searched repeatedly with no clicks, which is a rank tracker rather than a visitor. Assistant-shaped questions are left out here and have their own section below. These are heuristics over the query text, not a dimension either engine reports — see docs/SEARCH_CONSOLE_ANALYTICS.md before concluding anything from them.

AI assistant questions

Queries phrased as prose — eight words or more, or six ending in a question mark — which people rarely type and assistants grounding an answer (Copilot, ChatGPT search, Gemini) do. They surface as impressions near the top and are almost never clicked, so read them as questions the site was considered for, not as visitors. Kept apart from both engines' search totals above so they do not pass for reach. A heuristic over the query text, not a label either engine provides.
